Farrow and Ball Inchyra Blue: the best new F&B paint colours for 2016!

As I hope you've registered by now, Farrow and Ball have introduced nine exclusive new paint colours for 2016! There are some fantastic Modern Country tones in there and, this week, I'll be giving you the low-down and sharing my favourites new Farrow and Ball paint colours with you.

We've seen:
Cromarty, a soft Robin's Egg,
Drop Cloth, an uncertain creamy, stony grey.

Today's offering is...

Farrow and Ball say:
The colour was first used at the classic Georgian Inchyra House to work with moody Scottish skies. It can be found on the exterior doors of their very impressive barn. Such is the magic of our colours, this aged blue grey, can read more grey, blue or even green depending on the light. A great alternative to charcoal, use it to inject a hint of colour.

Farrow and Ball say Inchyra Blue looks like this...

Modern Country Style says...
Farrow and Ball's Inchyra Blue may look like that in some lights but, in most, it will read as a ark teal. Moving the doll's house that I painted around our house meant that I could develop a good understanding of how the colours play out in different positions.

What made a difference with this beautiful deepest-sea shade, was the light level. The brighter the light, including sun or artificial light, the more coloured Inchyra Blue becomes.

And when I say coloured, I see this as a definite teal. Yes, a very muted, dark teal but don't mistake this colour for an off black. I think it would look stunning on wainscot panelling. Farrow and Ball's Inchyra Blue is a Modern Country classic, to be sure!

{Last week, I was busy painting our dolls house with the new Farrow and Ball colours ready for a super informative post on Relics of Witney on all the new 2016 paints. You can see that here...}

It's very difficult to guess what the colour is on the little chip of the colour card, but I suspected it might be an interesting colour, so I love the way you described it.
