Let's talk sofa fillings today. What is the best filling for a Modern Country look to your sofa cushions? I'm talking soft, luxurious and gorgeous.
This is always going to be about personal taste. As with so many things, there is no right or wrong answer. It's about finding what's right for YOU! Make your decision all about what you want to flop down onto after a long, tiring day.
I know there will be a whole host of opinions amongst us but, for me, there's only one choice. I'm a feather girl all the way. When my feet are aching and my mind is longing for a rest, I yearn for the comforting feel of our feather-filled sofa. It almost feels like a warm duvet is wrapped around you as you nestle cosily into the yielding plumpness.
Yes, it does mean that you'll lose a few feathers from time to time.
Yes, it means regular plumping to keep the seat cushions looking their perky best......though even then the sofa looks squishy and inviting. Here are a couple of shots taken completely unplanned and unstyled, just to show you the deflated look.
When we had our sofa reupholstered (using Clarke and Clarke's Nantucket in Cinder), our ancient and empty old cushions were binned and replaced with these beauties. However, you don't need to wait for your whole sofa to be renovated to make feather-filled heaven your daily reality.
The good news is that it's pretty simple to get replacement feather cushions, and then it's just a matter of unzipping the outer and replacing the old with the plumptastic new!
Say hello to a new relaxed you!
