Jeff Teasdale and a very exciting day out...

Here's a bit more info for everyone who asked about the picture behind our bed. I don't think I've had so many enquiries before about one thing! So, never one to hold back, here's the lowdown.

Lowdown is a cool word, don't you think? Yes, I feel pretty darn cool when I say lowdown.

I bought the picture from Wesley Barrell who mainly sell sofas but also some rather lovely home accessories.

The Master bedroom was looking rather bare and I thought this wall above the bed would be the perfect place to put some kind of picture. I got busy looking and as soon as I saw this beautifully restful photo, I knew it was the one.

The image was taken by Jeff Teasdale and it's called Westwater #1. Not quite black and white....

.....yet not quite colour.

If you're interested, here's a link I've found where you can see his other work.

I'll tell you a little secret. I had to delete quite a lot of the photos I took because you could see my reflection in the picture.

And I was still in my jim-jams.....

No make-up.

Just-got-out-of-bed hair...

and not in a good way.

Don't think I can't hear you breathing a sigh of relief....

Now onto happier matters, guess where I'm going tomorrow?

Here's your first clue...

Have you guessed? No?

Okay, then here's your second clue....

That was more than a clue, really, wasn't it? I got bored with giving out clues willy-nilly.... I thought I'd just get on with the telling part....

I go into London each year for a brilliant day out with my Mum. We have such a great time. It's one of the things that marks the beginning of my Christmas. Do you have those too?

Oh, hang on, why are you crying?

Because you can't be there? You poor lovely. Well, wipe your eyes. I've got a plan.

I'll tell you what, I'll take lots of pictures of the best bits and it'll be just like you *were* there....only you don't have to get sore feet from tramping around all day.

Note to self: don't wear heels again...

How does that sound?

Feeling better already? I'm so pleased. I hate it when you're sad.

  12. Dear Sarah, It is always difficult finding the right picture for the right place, but it is so satisfying when one comes across the perfect image. Pictures on the wall really do complete the decoration of a room, I feel , although in my case there is usually hardly any wall to be seen. More is good and even more is better still where pictures are concerned in my view.

  13. I not only like the picture above the bed, I am thinking that the comforter on the bed is fabulous too! It looks so incredibly warm and cozy.

What a fun holiday fair. Wish I could hop on over to London to experience it.

How fun that part of Harry Potter was shot right by your home. We are going to be in Mexico when it opens, so I am hoping they have it in English and someone in our group wants to go see it! I don't think I can wait until I return.

  17. Love your framed photo. Have fun at the fair in London. Please take many pics. You can download Picasa for free to edit photos and Picnik is now on that site and lets you edit five photos at a time for free or you can buy the program for 24 dollars a year. It is loads of fun. The neat thing is you can mark your images with your name or blog name. I have just started learning all this myself. Picasa is very easy to use. You can e-mail me anytime. ♥O

  20. Oh Sarah! That sounds like such a fun day with your mom/mum! I did wipe my eyes a bit but more to do with missing my mom (she lives in another state) than missing out on the Christmas Fair.
:-) I'm glad you gave us the "lowdown" on that gorgeous print too!

  36. Hej Sarah

I have absolutely no connection with the USA other than lots of lovely blogging friends ;-D and some cousins who live there. Do I sound American when I write? Lots of people in Sweden have big connections with America as many families migrated to the states about 150 years ago. I live in London and we have holiday homes in Sweden... Of which my husband is trying to renovate, when he is not working in London lol!
    I hope this explains lol!
    LOVE PEACE enJOY
