Isn't this house's front door absolutely beautiful? Don't you just love the mix of formal and informal? And the colours and the topiary and the wreath.....
Speaking of wreaths, I'm off on a wreath-making course.
{Did you like that seamless link?}
This will be my fourth year of going.
{I should be able to make them with my hands tied behind my back by the end.}
I can't wait to show you what I've learnt....
I hope those of you celebrating have a marvellous Thanksgiving.
{I'm missing you...}

I make my own wreaths too, and have purchased a HUGE bag of moss & 20 wire frames from the wholesaler. I have two for home, give some away as gifts, and have also been asked to make some for other people. Guess what I'm going to be doing next week? Can't wait to see how yours turns out.xx
ReplyDeleteSuch a stylish door - lovely. I would love some info on wreath making, so teach us all!xx
ReplyDeleteHi lovely Sarah. I've made my own wreaths in the past - usually with holly from the massive holly tree that has taken over our tiny garden. Last year, however, I made one with those transparent plastic bags you get from the supermarket to put your fruit and veg in! Yes! Definitely not stylish but kitsch and looks surprisingly effective (from a distance). Enjoy your course. Look forward to some handy tips.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing what you make! That door is a beautiful colour, isn't it!
ReplyDeleteI need to try this... although I have to say I cheated last year and bought some fake ones on sale, to embellish for the inside decorating. Maybe I should start with them!
ReplyDeleteDear Sarah, Yes, I love the Versailles planters either side of the hall door.Often, they are not bold enough but these look a good size for the space that they fill. For me, I should do without the grass underplanting the topiary...but then I am for the strictly formal wherever possible.
ReplyDeleteI have never been on a wreath making course but many years ago I was asked to leave a flower arranging course.....so no plant orientated courses for me from now on.....too shaming!!!
Hi there, I am your newest follower. I do like the front door. Please stop by my place sometime, and perhaps even follow. Teresa

ReplyDeleteHi Sarah - so pleased to have found you. I have had a lovely time reading through your blog and getting to know you. Your fabulous tutorial on the Cinnamon and Heart Garland has had me rummaging through my fabric stash. (I have 4 metres of red/white gingham which I have been wondering what to do with? Now I know!) Not sure where to source the wooden cotton spools? Might have to improvise there. Will post some photos (as well as a link to your lovely blog!) when I finally get around to finishing the project. Thanks for the inspiration. ;)Sharyne
ReplyDeleteI missed this post! Oh where have I been! :) I hope you had so much fun and I love the inspiration picture! I made a wreath one year for mom, it took me forever but she loved it so that is what matters! Can't wait to see what you have been up to my dear!!
