Hey there yummies,
I had the most lovely weekend away.
I spent much of Saturday in Brighton by the sea
with some of my best friends from school.
I came away feeling so relaxed and refreshed.
{Thank you, gorgeous girls.}
Now....I do believe I promised you dining scrumptiousness.
How's this for eye-candy?
I'd say it just about hits the mark, don't you?
I realise that not many mere mortals have kitchens quite like this.
But please don't be disheartened in any way at all.
You see, it's the feel of this dining space that I love.
I want to capture the essence for myself.
The family dining room can be a hard space to get right.
I want to spend a bit of time looking at spaces that encapsulate the feel I'm after. Not necessarily the whole look. But particular details that catch my eye. Or that evokes the atmosphere I want in our home.
I hope you'll excuse my dining indulgences.

It is lovely, but every time I try to just have natural surroundings, I start going a bit mad and have to add some pink, blue or red! lol!

ReplyDeletegiven the eye candy you end up sharing with us, of course, you're excused, dear Sarah! love the casual yet well-thought out feel of the space. also love that it's light, airy and very livable.
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah, would you say that the finish on that wonderful table is the same basically as the one you just did on yours? It is what I would love to have on my table.
ReplyDeleteThat kitchen, btw, is absolutely adorable!!! That whole room makes me swoooon...

I like making eating spaces special . . . even when we spent summers in Europe in a tent.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to your ideas . . . which I always love.
So glad you got away.
Fondly,
Glenda
I just love that big gorgeous table!
ReplyDeleteReally good vibe - great table too :)
ReplyDeleteOh wow! thats what I call a Dining room.. glad you have a lovely weekend, I love Brighton :) x
ReplyDeleteLove it, Love it, Love it! Such good taste you have my dear!
ReplyDeleteSARAH! The table is divine. Way to go my friend.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful and peaceful, until you try to pull those chairs up close to the table. What's to be done for us messy eaters who have to lean over our plates so as not to wear our meals?
ReplyDeleteBTW -- your blog is glorious and your photos are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI've always loved the look of clapboard walls and full length windows. Thank you for stopping by ShabbyTeaParty and commenting, following. Hugs,
ReplyDeleteLOVE!
ReplyDeleteThe wood walls are great and I love how casual and bright it feels :)
Wow, they look more like restaurants!
ReplyDeleteSarah,
ReplyDeleteOne can only dream of a kitchen / dining combination as lush as this when you live in a 70's Style Ranch with a Galley Kitchen! Lead me into your world of dreams...one never knows where inspiration abounds until you take the next step. I'm right behind you dear!
Fondly,
Pat
