Christmas Cards...? I love 'em.
The sound of Mr Postie dropping a lovely bundle of cards through our letter box has to be in my Top Ten Christmas Sounds.
But it's so easy for the house to turn into Mrs Clutterbucket's at Christmas, with those very cards on every surface.
{Not to mention the dust...the less said about the dust, the better...}
What's a girl to do?
Is it possible to have a beautiful Christmas Card Display?
Here are some ideas I've dug up to get your crafty taste-buds drooling....
Aren't they great?
That shutter idea is so clever...
And cards on scrolled iron-work?
*swoon*
I'll be sharing my own Christmas Card Display idea verrrry soon...
First, though, I'll be showing you my felt Christmas Pud decoration,
You're gonna love it!

First one is my fave, doesn't it look lovely? I agree so much about the dust and clutter, it starts to really bug me so this year we are going all simple and streamline! 1 Christmas tree, two wreaths, a wooden nativity scene, candles and fairy lights and our christmas cards get tucked between the books in our sittingroom bookshelves - they don't fall over and if I come over particularly mad stepford wife, I can dust under them. ;)
ReplyDeleteI mean the message side of the cards go between the books, the picture side on view - is that obvs, didn't want you imagining I hide them out of view between books, now that would be minimalism gone laa laa!!Bxx
ReplyDeleteThat's so funny, Belinda!! I *did* think that!! It certainly would be one way around the dust problem - and a lovely surprise during the year to find those cards tucked away!!

Fantastic ideas and I love to make and receive cards too! I just wrap a picture that's hung on our wall with wrapping paper and then make some twine going across 3 or so times and then hang all my cards on there, it looks great!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures, these are all fab ways to display cards :)
ReplyDeleteBee happy x
Have a delicious day!
I would maybe try one and four sometime!
ReplyDeleteThose are some great ideas, thanks, I especially like the one of the cards hung on the tree, I have never liked what I do with my cards. I end up taking them down very soon, because I can't stand the feeling of too much clutter.

They are all wonderful ideas. I especially love the idea of putting them on a tree-very festive!
ReplyDeleteHope you have had a good start to the week-isn't this the best time of the year!
Best Christmas wishes,
Natasha.
I have a large photo print in my loungeroom which has glass on it. I put some Blu-tac (removable sticky putty) on each card and pop them on the glass. After a while all you see is Christmas cards in a frame! Then if I run out of room I head to the other wall with the large framed mirror and away we go!!!!! I've been doing that for over 20 years and people always comment on how clever and how out of the way they are.
ReplyDeleteI love the ideas you have shown. Next year I might do a little tree one!
Cheers
Maria
Such clever ideas, I never even thought of displaying my cards in that sort of way and it solves the problem of them keeping falling down and of dust!
ReplyDeleteThe first is my favourite, I love the idea of the natural branches plus you could probably pick them up anywhere in the countryside!

ReplyDeleteWonderful ideas--inspirational! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteGreat ideas! Love the picture frame and shutters especially. Hope you're enjoying the holiday season, Sarah!
ReplyDeleteMethinks I need to get creative with some branches, string and card...great post, great ideas!
ReplyDeleteOooh I love the first image, that's a fabulous idea and looks ace! So many good ideas here, brilliant post!
ReplyDeleteAt the moment, I have a ribbon strung across the mantle and hanging cards there but when I run out of room on there, not sure where they will go! Is it also completely over the top to hope that peoples' cards don't clash too much with my colour scheme? Yeah I thought so too. Hmm.

Lovey ideas, I've just put them up with clothespins on our Advent Tree. :-)
ReplyDeleteSuch great ideas! I have a slight obsession with Christmas cards, but I'm not really sure how to display them. Thanks for the inspiration.
