Well, whaddaya know?...it turns out that there's a whole plethora of gorgeous stirrupy goodness just waiting to be adored!
As a side-note, I have to tell you that I shudder at the thought of anything twee or overly-themed when it comes to equestrian accessories in the home but these offer a gentle nod to the slightly Modern industrial feel, as well as the Countrified history of horse-riding. Perfect!
Look at these beauties...
Did you check out the handles on this Ralph Lauren chest of drawers?
And what about these leather stirrup strap storage boxes?
I love those leather straps tautly wrapped around the cream lids.

Could there be a lovelier mealtime accessory than this stirrup-style napkin ring?
By Ralph Lauren, no less....
For another take on the stirrup lamp that I shared with you in my last post, how about this? A definitely western feel; wouldn't it be perfect in a little boys bedroom?
But now for my absolute favourite:
an equestrian-style umbrella stand,
made using leather and nickel to emulate stirrup straps,
and the stirrups themselves: chic, simple and gorgeous.

What are you thoughts on these equestrian-style home accessories? Love 'em or loathe 'em?
Love them! We prefer a bit more rustic than equestrian (rodeo, working ranch) but they are all lovely pieces. I am enjoying this series, Sarah.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I love horse riding, I'd mostly have to pass. I do think the umbrella stand is cool though.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE a bit of equestrian style in the home. A bit of Hermes or Ralph Lauren would be delightful - unfortunately, my girls take it a bit too literally in my house, leaving their riding boots and jodhpurs steaming with horse poo around the house after a days riding and mucking out - not quite the elegant image I have in mind...

p.s. Almost forgot to add - the wall colour in my family room is Farrow & Ball 'Old White' - I LOVE a bit of F&B!!!

well, no. Recycled and reused, maybe. Ministraps that was never meant for use, that falls under the same category for me as anchors that could not stop the smallest boat or empty bird cages that could not fit even the smallest colibri. Waiting eagerly for your kids new bedroom though!
ReplyDeleteI think they all look great, they aren't my style, but I love seeing them in the right home, one meant for such, which mine isn't.

I do like most of the things you feature but I can't ever imagine being a fan of this style. Kind of reminds me of horse brasses in theme pubs.
ReplyDeleteP.S> I almost forgot... I'd have to say yes to the storage boxes - that warm crisp white is just beautiful. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for giving such a great information about horses
