The problem I find with many beautifully designed boys bedrooms is that they look, simply put, too pretty. I often help my clients to work through this very issue. You should be looking to strike the balance so that everyone is thrilled with the result!
This room is gorgeous but hanging hearts on the chest of drawers? Beading on the blinds? Really?!!

Sexist, much? OK, I must challenge this.
ReplyDeleteHow do you know that this is a boy's room? Do you know it's owner? If it is a boy's room , is it possible that the boy in question asked for the elements you ridicule?
Rigid gender rules do not work in design or life.
Agree with you, Sarah. My boys would revolt if I threw in hearts and beads. Guess that makes them sexist, too?? haha

ReplyDeleteI like it.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a small toddler's room perhaps a carry over from a nursery. Boy or girl-- no matter. Looks like a room set for imagination and play!
Not so sure about any rigid gender rules...but I do know a couple of older boys... no longer toddlers, that would definitely balk at this room. They want ninja turtles, Spider-man, Toothless and Toy Stories... they love super heroes and play fighting... so I don't see this room as being that type of room.
I totally agree with you, Sarah. :)
