Spring: where are you?

Hello sweethearts,

I don't know about you but I'm getting to that time of year when I'm longing for Spring. Longing, yearning, craving.

I thoughtyou might like to see a photo of our garden at its peak.

Oh garden, I miss you.

But seed catalogues provide their own special brand of cheeriness for me in mid-January.

So much temptation!!

It brings Spring that little bit nearer...

  1. It is fun to dream of spring and gardens . . . while a few snowflakes fall.

    Your garden is beautiful.

  7. Greetings from snowy Virginia! Spring, with its pleasant weather and return to the garden, seems like a wonderful dream right about now. To combat the winter blues, it helps to work like crazy on inside projects, and spend as much time as possible in the warm greenhouse.

Your garden is lucious, and exuberant, and wonderful!!!

  8. Me too!!! There has been a feeling in the air and I couldn't wait to get in the garden today.
Your garden looks stunning at it's peak, look forward to seeing this years results. x

  25. Oh my gosh Sarah, your garden is gorgeous! It makes me yearn to spend some time outside. I am so going to miss having a beautiful garden myself this year. Spring here in Alaska won't come until about May, so I have a long time to wait :( It feels like forever at this point.

  26. Hi Sarah,

Your garden looks gorgeous. Can't wait to see more pics of it. It's so weird to hear about all the snow when we are in stinking heat at the moment. It is like 40 degrees here today and my garden is wilting. Cicadas are singing madly which is a true sign of a very hot day. It must be time for the beach. Have a lovely day. Leahxx

  27. You have a beautiful garden...I too am dreaming of warm sunny days with no mud, slush, snow and gray gloomy skies..Hurry Spring...

  28. That is a full garden and one that is a managable size....usually I cannot wait but this year I think I am still in recovery mode...so I can put it off for awhile yet in my thinking.

  29. I know the feeling well--just sniffled about it a bit myself.

Came here via Sofia's Ideas and was so pleasantly surprised to find such a welcoming garden! I hope you get back in it soon.

  30. Sarah, why is it that you adorable English People have the most beautiful back yards, ever. And you even you call them Gardens, when we call them silly things like "back yards" which sounds so plain and ordinary. That picture is fantastic! Oh I want to be English so bad hehe is that wrong? I think we're long lost sisters seperated at birth across continents. I will have to work on our "garden" this Spring, which by the way will be here before you know it, don't worry. Jan is over now, and in just 29 days will be March, which is officially Spring. xoxo tami

  32. Oh sweet Sarah! I am so with you! We have had some sunshine here so we have been outside and I see little buds peeking out here and there and they fill me with so much hope! I absolutely adore your garden and would love to meander down that path with you, my friend!

  34. Wow Sarah, that is some garden. You don't see ones like that here in the desert. The water bill would be through the roof :-) It's beautiful!!!
What are your favorite seed catalogs? I need to find some.

  35. Now, that is just what I imagine an ''English country garden'' to look like. Looks gorgeous!
I was flipping through the Christmas edition of Aussie Real Living magazine and guess what...kitchens...they referred to the kitchen from the movie Something's Gotta Give...I'm guessing that was the inspiration for the kitchen in the photo from your previous post! Love that movie : ) Alison x

  38. HI Sarah - Thanks for the big hug :) Really appreciated it :)

With our current weather it feels worlds away from your pretty spring garden... which looks so lovely :)

I also love gardening and have tried to keep an "English Style" garden mixed with a sub tropical environment! ...and would you believe it, mint is so hard to grow over here! Have fun, Lisa

  39. Your garden is gorgeous. I too have been longing for spring and it hasn't helped that we have been having beautiful sunshine days, with the birds singing and temperatures reaching the 70's. Tonight we are suppose to have rain and then tomorrow a wintery mix. :(

  40. Ah! seed catalogues! Now that you mention it, I haven't looked all the pages of mine this week yet... And what day is it? Monday? I must find it! (I know, it's lame, I know mine by heart!!! But I've dreamt of a garden for so long!)

  50. Hello Sarah!
What a beautiful garden you have...there's something about English Cottage gardens that just touch my heart. I was fortunate enough to see a few in April 1999 when I visited my sister in England. We were on our way to Cornwall but stopped in Bourton On The Water for a couple of hours. Loved the Cotswolds. Thank you for sharing your little piece of heaven with us! Have a wonderful weekend.

Your garden is amazing. I'm in San Diego, and have just started a bit of planting for this year's garden... hoping we don't have a cold spell before it all takes off.
