I love the new life springing up in our garden,
the lush greeness, the exuberant efflorescence, the wafting scents in mild evenings.
Isn't Spring filled with so much optimism and hope?
And, to me, Easter feels like the absolute pinnacle of all that I adore about this time of year.
The ultimate meaning of new life.
I am so grateful for the eternal hope that I have because of my king, Jesus, through his agonizing death and
glorious resurrection.
glorious resurrection.
Although I don't often talk explicitly about
my Christian faith on Modern Country Style,
it's absolutely central in every aspect of my life.

I hope you have a wonderful Easter.
May I add my fervent Amen. I am so grateful for the hope that only comes through Jesus Christ.

ReplyDeleteOur belief in Jesus
is a great deal like
our belief that spring
will come, each year,
isn't it? The trees
still look like winter
where I live, but I
KNOW that underneath
is the promise of what
is to come.....Have a
blessed holiday!
xx Suzanne
Have a very blessed Easter.. I too liken spring to the rebirth of Christ Jesus. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLast summer, the area I live in suffered an extended drought. Everything turned brown and dry, and our lawn, trees and plants were suffering. We worried whether they would return this spring. What a glorious joy to look out my kitchen window today and see.....green! New life appearing where once we thought everything was dead. A vivid reassurance that God's promises of the resurrection are real and true. " Our Lord has written the promise of resurrection, not in books alone, but in every leaf in springtime." (Martin Luther) Happy Easter!!
ReplyDeleteYes, this is a time of promise and rebirth and it is expressed beautifully in this post. Have a lovely Easter...your garden looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteMy Dear Sarah, is there anything better than a gorgeous Garden in the English Cotswolds?
ReplyDeleteI think not, well perhaps, just the one where the lady of the house is a charming woman who can sew, cook, craft, and is a good Mum, and supportive friend.

Love it! I hope to get my garden looking this nice! I planted roses, some pretty ground cover, and a bunch of hydrangeas last year! I've also been letting the periwinkle take over part of the bed, as well as letting the wisteria cover an old chain link fence. I want to have a Mad Hatter themed tea party in my garden soon! Now following! Hope you'll visit me!

I am slowly reading through your archives, having been drawn in by your link on re-modelaholic I think. I normally read design/decor/craft blogs from the US so it is lovely to find a fellow Brit with the exact taste in decor I love (and I am a tweed-lover too.)
ReplyDeleteFinding this post as I wended my way through your archives was lovely.
Thanks for posting this, from another Christian girl.
