i am a follower! and my favorite all time decorating book so far (meaning i do not yet have this one and looked at my local bookstore and it was not there) is domino.
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah - well, based on your EXCELLENT recommendation I placed an order for DECORATE via Amazon. Due to be shipped at the end of September - can't wait. As far as favourite all time decorating book - I just love Terry John Woods' "Summer House". Every page is filled with pure gorgeousness!
ReplyDeleteLove following you Sarah - one of my favourites. ;)Sharyne
Well my favorite book is the one that Barbra Streisand wrote, My Passion for Design..all about her triple house complex. It is amazing, and she is quite the designer. I would love to win this book, as I collect decorating books (its a disease).I follow and you have you on my blog roll too by the way..
ReplyDeleteEasy peasy lemon squeezy.... not! I don't even own a decorating book! I'm so embarrassed... Maybe I should just stop writing my blog! I do have a book on how TV sets are made to look real, which I keep re-reading... Does that count? I have lots of decorating magazines, though, that I usually buy during lunch break when at work (just trying to make it up...)
ReplyDeleteMagali
I'm a follower and on facebook too! My favourite is Kirstie's Homemade Home, but I'd love a copy of any of the Rachel Ashwell books.
ReplyDeleteSx
My favorites are anything from the Pottery Barn series, especially the bathroom book. I return to them often.
ReplyDeleteHi sarah
ReplyDeleteMy favourite decorating book is a room of her own by Chris Madden. Dreamy personal spaces love it.
Kind Regards
Karen
I really love 'domino'-great ideas and I still miss that magazine.
ReplyDeleteI am already a follower, but will also "Like" this on FB :)
ReplyDeleteI would have to say Country Living the Peaceful Home is one of my all time favourites.
I am a follower. My favorite design book..well..I don't have many (just a book on color and a book by Laura Ashley from the nineties - love vintage Laura Ashley). Books on design are very hard to find in my country in English. I get my inspiration online :)
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite decorating book is "Domino"... although I also really love Alexandra Stoddard books.
I'm looking forward to coming over for tea as soon as I'm a bit more settled!
Christy
I have a couple of the Rachel Ashwell books that I always come back to. But I also tend to collect mile high stacks of decorating magazines. (does that count?)
ReplyDeleteI am also a follower!!
I'm already a follower! I like Private Places by Judith Wilson, but mostly I'm a magazine fan.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this fabulous giveaway!!
Sarah,
ReplyDeleteI decided to drop by because I missing you! This is a big surprise!
Loving this giveaway and yes, I'd be super happy to have it on my coffee table!
I actually don't have only one favorite book... love many, but who knows, maybe this one will be my fav! ;-)

ReplyDeletethe 2 books i return to the most at the moment are Susan Susanka 'Creating the not so big house', and Ros Byam Shaw 'Perfect English Cottage'.
Good morning Sarah,I am a pretty recent follower and I just love your blog. I would love to win this book. My favorite decorating book of all time is a tuffy. My style is kinda modern cottage but I am a student of all. My all time fave would have to be
ReplyDeleteAn Affair with a House by Bunny Williams. I think the title is part of what draws me to it but it is a gorgeous book as well.
My favorite book is 'Modern Country' by Nancy Ingram and I am such a follower here and on facebook!! Just love you!!
ReplyDeleteVery easy...I don't have a favorite...yet. Now that I finally have some time to think about how I want to decorate our 1920's bungalow I'll need to start finding some books for inspiration. Maybe this one will start me off? :) Thanks for all your posts, it's helping this lost would-be decorator find her way a bit...
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah! First of alla thank you for visiting my blog and stopping by ;)
ReplyDeleteSecond: I'd like to enter your fantastic giveaway!
About my fave decorating book, well, it's hard, maybe Pale & Interesting by Atalanta Bartlett..at least in this moment..
I've been one of your first followers and from this very moment I follow you on fb, too.
A very big hug
paola
I am a decorating book and magazine lover of all kinds. But in the past I probably bought more Country Living decorating books and Victoria decor books than I should have! Thanks for having the drawing!
ReplyDeleteHello Miss Sarah, I already follow on Facebook and subscribe to your beautiful blog. Just wanted to let you know my fave all time decor book....Shabby Chic by Rachel Ashwell...what else? Have a wonderful Monday sweetie.
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah, I'm going to be predictable and suggest a fantastic (country modern) garden design book, so your garden can look as lovely as your home, it is called New Country Garden by the late Elspeth Thompson and Melanie Eclare. Bxx
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah,
ReplyDeletewell, my favourite so fare are the Shabby Chic books, love them! Altough there are many more good ones, like this one so I would love to enter your give away, already following and reading MCS, gotta go to bed now, late again here, night hon,
Maureen
I'm trying not to lurk . Right now my favorite book is Romantic Prairie Style . I am a follower .
ReplyDeleteSarah, I am so very embarrassed that I don't usually do decorating books. I have an old Laura Ashley book, but that's YEARS ago and needs to be put out of its misery. I have nothing updated at all. That said, I do enjoy some decorating magazines--Southern Living, House Beautiful, and Better Homes and Gardens. I'm pathetic. I know.
ReplyDeleteBut I follow you, so that's good, isn't it? :)
I have a couple favorites. But right now- Bunny Williams "An Affair with a House" is calling me from the book case next to my desk. With a title like that- I knew the decorating had to be juicey- and it does notdisappoint.
ReplyDeleteOh boy, my favorite decorating book? Let me see, well, it's not a book actually...it's probably the catalogs from Restoration Hardware :)
ReplyDeleteAlexandra Stoddard is one of my favorite authors when it comes to design as she works from all angles not just what is seen but the whole ambiance and feeling in the home.
ReplyDeleteI follow you right here, sweetie-pie.
ReplyDeleteI don't own any decor books, but I would love to own Fifi's book Romantic Prairie Style.
This looks like a fabulous book, though. I would like to own it.
Hugs, Cindy
I am a current email subscriber and I loved your post on this book. Does my stack of Country Living count? i do get lots of inspiration in their pages!
ReplyDeleteI am a follower. My favorite book of all time is Carolyn Westbrook, "Home." Love everything in it.
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower and my favorite decorating book is almost impossible to pick. I have a lot of decorating books. There's always room for one more :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah i have just come across your fantastic blog and loving it. I am following it every where I can as I am just about to move into a small country cottage which is a blank canvas and I have to start from scratch. Thank you for the inspiration. My favourite book at the moment is Romantic Style: Create a Beautiful Home with a Romantic Vintage Look by Selina Lake but I can see I will be buying lots more

Oh sweetpea, you do spoil us! Love this giveaway. Hard to give a favourite book - I like so many! I would say a charmer of a book I recently got my hands on is Romantic Prairie Style by Fifi O'Neill.
ReplyDeleteAnd of course, I'm a very happy Modern Country Style follower!
Meera xx
Hi Sarah - I am a follower too - love getting a regular dose of inspiration from you. I have more cookbooks than decorating books at the moment, so I would love to win one. I regularly view the house/apartment tours on Apartment Therapy.
ReplyDeleteI love the Mary Carol Garrity books--Nell Hill's whatever...and your blog!

Hi I am a follower, of course.
ReplyDeleteMy fav book is my very first interior book by Laura Ashley. I read it from cover to cover many times when I first moved out of home. I still have it. It has all the instructions of how to make curtains and slipcovers, bedcovers etc. I don't think I will ever be able to part with it. I will be handing it down to my daughter.
hmmm...favorite decorating book of all time? very hard, but i'll choose the first i ever bought and still go to for inspiration...mary emmerling's quick decorating...it's where i discovered the joys of animal prints and white slipcovers...way back in 1990!
ReplyDeletealison
What a gorgeous giveaway! I have to confess that I don't have a favorite design book, in fact i am not even sure that I own one! I know!!! This would be a beautiful book to start my collection, thank you for the chance!
ReplyDeleteI am a happy follower/friend! :)
xo
My favorite of all time is by A. Hays Town. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah,
ReplyDeleteNow that's a hard question.lets see...ummmm....I have lots of decorating books and I can't truly say that only one is my favorite. Each book has something special to see or read about, so I would say they are all my favorite, since I have bought them all.
I am a follower :)
I will keep my fingers crossed.
Have a sweet day, Elizabeth
I'm currently
ReplyDeletein love with
my copy of
Summer House by
Terry John Woods.
There, I've said
it....! Holly's
book looks quite
swoon-worthy, too!
xx Suzanne
My favorite is Tine's dining room, in the second picture.
ReplyDeleteLove your selection.
Big hugs
Tereza
Since I live so far from you, I guess I can't participate, but my favorite decorating book is Victoria Hagan: Interior Portraits.
ReplyDeleteHugs again
Tereza
Gorgeous! Me please!
ReplyDeleteI used to buy decorating books all the time, but in recent years my favorites have been Southern Living, Better Homes and Gardens and the Pottery Barn and Ballard Designs Catalogs! Lol! Now though, I'm kind of curious about some of the books people have been mentioning!
ReplyDeleteI think I'm heading over to Amazon right now to do a little from my bed shopping!
Oh my favourite book has to French Home by Josephine Ryan. I colours!
ReplyDeleteI am follower! Even though I haven't really read any decorating books so far (because I am still 17 and I don't have really time for that), but I am determined to be interior decorator.
ReplyDeleteBut when I go to library and read some decorating books, they are usually in Estonian (because I live in Estonia, lol). And I can't really remember their names. But I absolutely love "Kaunid Eesti Kodud". In translate it is "Beautiful Estonian Homes". So its Country Styled book :)
A fave book is Romantic Prairie Style by Fifi O'Neill. Check out her blog at
ReplyDeletehttp://fabulousfifi.typepad.com/chez_fifi/
And of course, any Racheal Ashwell book gets my vote too!
I have become a Follower.

What a generous giveaway! My all time favorite decorating books are Patina Style by Brooke and Steve Giannetti and Creole Thrift by Angele Parlange.
ReplyDeleteThis is so hard to pick just one. Sorry, I have to mention two even though that's knocking out a lot who should be mentioned! Rachel Ashwell's Shabby Chic Interiors and Perfect English Cottage by Ros Byam Shaw. I am going to be interested to see which book gets the most votes! And I already follow. xx
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah, oh to think I nearly missed a giveaway, still better late then never... well I have to say my favourite is, Rachel Ashwell's Shabby chic, the first book, I first saw it in the 80's/90's and I loved her style, still do x
ReplyDeleteI love decorating books! I don't own many, but I picked up a few BHG "new decorating books" at a discount store and I re-read them all the time. Just saw that they released the latest version, too. Anyway, I'm a long-time lurker ;) and I love your blog!

I am sad to say I do not have any decorating books! Gasp! I know. I am a magazine gal. Sort of obsessively so. So I hoard all the magazines that I can and have a hard time getting rid of them. :)
