Utterly Gorgeous House And Garden

I love the way this completely gorgeous house has an incredible outside AND an incredible inside. And both work together perfectly without competition.

That's what I'm thinking about at the moment. Our front garden is currently utterly hideous. So awful that there is very little prettifying to be done. I've tried. Oh, I've tried. But nooooooo. It's all coming out.

The ugly, cracked concrete. The half-dead plants. The old tree stump. The very thinned-out shingle. Bleeurgh. Starting from scratch. That's where it's at.  And we're just at the very beginning the process of making it look scrumptious

Fancy joining me?

Isn't dull, dark February the most perfect month to dream up
all kinds of wonderful garden plans?

  1. Yep I am with you. Every year I promise myself that I will DO something with the garden, and every year I let it slide. Inspiration please. Ps You just can't bring a new baby home to a concrete garden now can you.

  4. Before you rip our your front garden, be sure to take "before" pictures. Always so satisfying to see where it started. I'm thinking about bringing in a load of dirt for my back yard to take out a dip I noticed as the snow melted. The center of the yard became a shallow lake. Ugh.

  6. Oh my goodness, I just love it and I could certainly be living there! Love, love, love the wood stove in the fireplace. I want one just like that. Yes, this is a great time to be thinking about the outside, and ALL the work we will have to do to get it looking good. Amazing how much work it is to make it look "natural."

  7. Ooh I love. I want. Garden make-over time is definitely upon us. When everything is dead and brown, it's a good time to have a serious clear-out! x

Gorgeous! I love garden planning. I miss my big garden so much and I hope I can buy another house soon and have a garden again. I usually spend all winter dreaming and planning my garden.

  9. It is beautiful - inside and out. Thankfully it is almost March and one can make some thoughts of spring gardens a reality.

  14. Darling and charming home...
and I want a pretty garden, too. However, we are on water rationing so won't be planting too much of a garden this spring..maybe some container gardening is called for here.:)
    Good luck on YOUR garden.

  16. Beautiful house and garden pics. Our garden is teeny tiny and I'm always on the look out for teeny tiny garden inspiration and never finding anything *sulk*. xx

  18. Stunning photos! I love the fact that it is not a mcmansion, not tiny either but it has all the features you would want in a perfect home... and certainly location helps too! Okay, I would love to see the before photo of the garden....right now mine is buried under probably 5 feet of snow.
