Isn't September a wonderful month?
This week, we're enjoying every moment of an Indian summer.
Warm, peaceful sunshine
tempered with a mild and balmy breeze.
Perfect for lazy bike rides.
And tea in the garden.
Golden light.
And dappled grass.
After nearly eight weeks of holidays
with the house full of the merry (!) sounds of our five children,
school has started.
And all is quiet again....
It's just me.
And baby Sophie.
And you....
Time to get cracking with some projects....
I can't wait.

I adore September. I love the cooler nights and warm days, the golden light, and the culmination of harvest. Hooray for fall!
ReplyDeleteIt's THE BEST!! Enjoy your quiet.
ReplyDeleteSarah, I am sure that while you enjoyed all of the kiddies home it is special to have your new precious one all to yourself!
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy your lovely Fall! Looking forward to your Christmas ideas.
Take care, Elizabeth
Yes, Sarah, there is something quite special about September.
ReplyDeleteParticularly if we get some late good weather, it makes you feel like you can start on some new projects with new energy.
Hope you have a lovely day,
Lizx
Ps: thanks for the heads up on the F&B paint colours competition-I hadn't seen this at all.
These are lovely days, indeed. Full of warmth during the day, and chilly enough to need a bit of blanket at night. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteYES! September is one of my favourite months and fall is my fave season as well. Cheers from London! Will :)

What a fabulous photo! I love September too - but it's more for the warm breeze blowing in and all the flowers that are starting to open. Just this week two of the trees in our yard have started blossoming. Bliss! I can't wait to see what creative things you are up to. :)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for the cooler temps. It was really humid and tropical feeling and I like sweater weather.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your free time while the kiddies are in school.
Indeed! Beautiful time of the year! Can't wait to break out the jeans. Oooh, I hope I can find some colored jeans this fall.
ReplyDeleteLovely photo!
Happy snuggling with Sophie :)

Hellooooooo!!! I'm glad that you're there, because my house is all empty and echo-y now that the children are back at school. As much as I am a tad relieved, I also miss the madness, and unlike you with the gorgeous baby Sophie, I only have a shaggy old Jack Russell to cuddle = lol!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing your projects, and yes, I absolutely ADORE September, and this time of year - I always have!

You and Sophie and tea ... the kids all tucked in at school ... sounds like a perfect September to me.
ReplyDeleteFondly,
Glenda
I do love September, aren't you glad to have baby Sophie with you? You're not alone! You're a smart lady.
ReplyDeleteI love that you're not dying to get away from your kids. It makes me so sad to hear moms say that, they want them out of the house. They grow up and leave soon enough. Enjoy your mommy days, sweet Sarah.
Hugs, Cindy
Hello Sarah!
ReplyDeleteI so agree on loving September! It is the perfect month...still warm outside like summer hasn't quite said goodbye, but fall is definitely in the air! :)
I hope you enjoy every precious moment with your sweet Sophie! :)
Hugs,
Jenni
Happy new school year to you, Sarah! I bet you are enjoying your little Sophie to the fullest. I don't know how you do it all - and so gracefully!
ReplyDeleteI'd love for you(and Sophie)to join me at 'Blogger's Tea' in London on Oct 2nd. It would be great to see you!!
Have a wonderful sunny September day today! XOL
Happy September!
ReplyDeleteMy kiddos have been
back at it since the last
week in August and I'm
still adjusting to our new
routines. My oldest "baby"
will graduate high school
this year, so change is in
the air, for certain....
Enjoy that warmth and
sunshine, and most especially
your baby moments!!
xo Suzanne
Just found you on another's blog. I like your idea of modern country. I think it is what I am, really. Just became one of your followers. xo Jenny in Holland
