Something's Gotta Give: Master Bedroom

Today, we're in the bedroom...or, more specifically, in
the Master Bedroom from Something's Gotta Give.

What an eye-poppingly lovely lot of things there are to look at in this beautiful room.

That desk? Drool.

Those windows? Swoon.

The squishy armchair? Faint.

Is it bad that I was as entranced with the room as with the crying?

This film was released in 2003. Have you looked at interior magazines from 2003 recently? I have. And they looked daaaaaated. What I love about this film is that, although it was released nearly ten years ago, it hasn't aged one jot. It would still stun me if it was released now.

And I suspect this house will look as good in twenty years time. It's just got that classic, timeless feel about it.

Now, you go and have a great weekend, you hear me?

And don't forget to pop by on Monday when we can have more of a good snoop around the Something's Gotta Give Beach House...Is it just me or does the gate-crashing element add to the thrill?

Something's Gotta Give: Kitchen

Hello sweets.

Now, where to start with this incredible kitchen from
Something's Gotta Give?

And it is utterly incredible, isn't it?

Can you believe that this was a film set,
and not even a real house on the inside?

The Something's Gotta Give kitchen
is my favourite room in the film.

I posted these images before here and hesitated to repeat them
but I could hardly leave the kitchen out now, could I?!

If I had to pick a kitchen
from any film in the world,
I'd pick this one.

I love the matte soapstone worktops and the white Shaker units.

The subway tiles and the hardware.

The inset sink and the pendant lights.

The books in the island and the moulded top-cabinet supports.

The taps and the windows.

It's like I've died and gone to heaven.

Yeah, I'll take it. Thanks very much....

Now, who'd like a snoop around another utterly luscious room?
Yes, the Something's Gotta Give Master Bedroom...

And remember, next week,
we'll take a look in more depth at
How To Get The Look!

Something's Gotta Give: Living Room

Welcome to
Something's Gotta Give pure-joy-overload.
{Yes, that's its official title. No sniggers, please.}

Eye candy galore will be the name of the game.

Each post will take a look at a different room from the filmset of
 Something's Gotta Give,
and then, at the end, we'll take a closer look at
HOW TO GET THE LOOK.

let's take our first delicious dive-in here:

Something's Gotta Give Living Room

Gorgeous, no?

Spacious, roomy and elegant.

I love this little area for a book nook.

I can just imagine settling down there for an evening's reading, safe in the smug knowledge that I was sitting in the most beautiful house in the world...

Five different lamps allow the room's lighting to be
changed dramatically at the flick of a switch.

The whites and the blues echo the seaside location without being overly gimmicky. I love that gentle nod to the coastal look.

Soft, squishy roomy sofas.....with perfectly fitting, white slip-covers.
Not even Jack Nicholson could resist their allure, I bet.

See?!

What's next, you ask?
{My, but you're keen!}

......only the nicest kitchen in the WHOLE WIDE world....
Eeeek!

Giveaway: Modern Country Tablecloth

 Hey sweetiepip,

How was that for a very lovely link party?
I SO enjoyed visiting you all. Thank you for taking the time to swing by.

For those of you who follow me on Facebook, you'll know that
I have a pretty awesome giveaway today for you.
For those of you who don't....surpriiiiiiiiise!

I was delightfully bombarded with emails asking me
where I got my Modern Country tablecloth
after my post on cosying up for autumn.

It's from New House Textiles.

It retails at nearly £58.44, and is honestly worth every penny.
Made from 59% linen and 41% cotton, it feels weighty and luxurious.

The tablecloth has a gorgeous Scandinavian heart print in deep red along the centre of the cloth, with a small repeat around the edge, and measures 147 by 250 cm / 59 by 100 inches. So gorgeous.

Yup, I LOVE it, and I think you will too!

New House Textiles have very sweetly agreed
that you can win one of these beauties.
{Hooray!}

To be entered into the giveaway, which will be open for one week, all you have to do is make sure you leave a comment telling me
how you subscribe to Modern Country Style.
Is it via email? Via Facebook? Through Google Follow? Or Twitter?
So many options...and all free!!

If you'd like a second entry, then write another comment,
leaving me a link to the page where you have blogged about this giveaway, or mentioned it on any social media site.

Then next week....it's time to delve into the set of
Something's Gotta Give.

Yeeehaaaaa!
