I'm heavily pregnant now
{and let's move swiftly past the word 'heavily, if you please...},
so it must be time for some crazy-nesting renovation, right?
Right!
Do you remember this?
{The top floor bedroom before we moved in...}
When we first moved into our house, it was completely bizarrely laid out, with not one but two master bedrooms. One seemed plenty for us so we made the top floor our own mummy-and-daddy-private-haven...
{which I covered here...}
and were left with this large space downstairs...
{again, the picture is before we moved in.}
Ugggghhhhh.....
Where to begin?
What would you do?

Strange high cupboards (?) I would start with paint and hardwoods, definitely....
What have you planned for the space so far?

Those doors, definitely. The door in your room has such lovely character. Maybe some molding could be added to these and then painted? I'm sure you'll think of just the right thing.
What purpose do you have for the space? That would help a lot in giving some helpful suggestions.
Lots of paint!! :) Can't wait to see How it turns out!
i would begin with removing carpeting and wallpaper... and then paint paint paint!
It's a nice space, Sarah! Lots of paint and maybe wood floors?
XO,
Jane
I am excited to see what you do with it! Will it be a nursery? x
You're brilliant! Whatever you decide will look smashing!!
Hi Sarah, well if you have time before the new baby arrives, I'd love to see some colour, perhaps this room should exude some vintage charm with florals and gorgeous wallpaper....Happy week! Sharon:)
I'd paint over that wallpaper (I'm too lazy to remove old wallpaper!) and get that wood painted before you could say Bob's your uncle! At least, that's what I'd do in my head. The things I actually do with my HANDS may take a little longer.
It'll be such fun to see what you come up with!
By the way, you look anything but heavy!
Your bedroom is BEAUTIFUL! What a lovely space you created.
Ooh, how exciting to have an extra room to play with! I need to go read about your haven now!
Hi Sarah,
I would start with the floors, the walls and the doors. Decorating the room can wait but the heavier stuff I would get done (do you still have time before the baby arrives?). Good luck with it and enjoy honey!
Maureen
Oh gosh , I have NO decorating talent. at all.
But - yes - paint paint paint! Can't wait to see what you do!
Have a pretty day!
Kristin
I just know that whatever you do will be beautiful, (ahem) heavily pregnant or not. I find that a clean canvas is so much easier to start with so I would also start by peeling off the wallpaper and by painting the walls. Then the fun can begin! can't wait to see what you decide! God bless x
are there more of those doors? otherwise i would change that one to an older style. Wallpaper wardrobe doors are a fun old way of hiding doors, could be an unexpected feature. I think this room is leaning towards floral wallpaper, but more masculine in colors, blue-grey rathern than pink.
I can't wait to see what you do and how you work your magic, I know it will be delicious!!
I am sure that you are the most adorable pregnant girl.
xoxo
Get rid of everything, wallpaper, carpet, brown wood etc. Paint neutral colour and then asses it. Oh and PLEASE loose the light!!
Which way does it face? what are you going to use it for?
Have fun!
Poppy
I would repaint that room a nice color like you did your room and get rid of the carpet, is there wood under it? Then paint those closet and whatever the other little doors are a nice neutral color that goes with the new wall color and then I'd search around and find another gorgeous wood door to replace the original door. Then I'd decorate the rest in my own country modern way. You definitely have what it takes to make it beautiful.
Love and hugs to a beautiful pregnant lady, Cindy
So, heavily, you said??? Wow, you have two master bedrooms? I really don't know where I would begin... probably close my eyes and imagine what I could do with the space, which would involve changing the doors, floor and wallpaper and the very weird crown molding! Can't wait to see what you do with the room!
I'm sure you will work your usual magic and have the space looking fab! A lick of paint and some wood floors and you're off to the races :)
Well, paint IS the cheapest design mistake one can make...
I love the vibe of the upstairs room, something like that perhaps? Good luck, and can't wait to see pics of the baby.
Love,
Leslie
Love the way you transformed upstairs. I could say "start with the 'bones' of the room"... but let's face it, you are about 33 weeks pregnant now! How much will Guy do? You COULD do the walls I suppose. Or change the light fixture... I'm sure whatever you come up with will look amazing. I love the colour of the chest of drawers. If you want something not too intensive... paint the chest at the foot of the bed. :)
Have fun! :)
I can't wait til that baby arrives and I am praying with you for a safe delivery.
Hi, what colour green is that that you have used, it's lovely :)
I love it too! It's Farrow and Ball Light Blue. If you click on the 'Gorgeous Paints' tab at the top of the page then you can see more details of all the paints I've used.
