Kate Moss' Wedding Part 2

Less than a week to go until my
 Summer Loving link party
on Wednesday 24th August.
{Button coming next week....}

Are you planning your post?

Anything that makes you feel full of beans on a summers day.
Is it your favourite summery recipe?
Or your best outfit?
Or your newly arranged porch?

I can't wait to see what YOU have to share!
Wednesday 24th August...be there!!

But let's get back to Kate Moss' wedding....

Please feel free to Oooooh and Aaaah to your heart's content.
I have been.
Oh yes, siree.

I present to you, Kate Moss and her new husband Jamie Hince.

And the most glamorous-but-super-hip guest-list in the world....

It looks like wedding-planner heaven.

So many incredible details
combining to create
gorgeous English Country bliss.

British Style at its best.

I do wonder how hard it was for Kate Moss *not* to pose for her Wedding Photos. I can't help but have a small niggle in the back of my mind that these photos, utterly eye-candified though they are, have the feeling of being posed, rather than the great, big, won-the-lottery smiles that I think look like the best thing in the entire world at weddings.

I must add that I wish her the very best for her marriage.
But what are your thoughts?
Is that smile real or not real?

Am I being incorrigibly romantic
looking for real love to shine through?

{Discuss.}

Kate Moss' Wedding

Kate Moss: Super Modern Miss.
Don't you think?

But she chose to have a fairytale vintage country wedding.
Modern girl and Country wedding?
Errrr, hello?

That is surely to goodness
Modern Country Style territory,
I'd say.

And, as confirmation that this post was mean to be,
Kate Moss' house is in the Cotswolds.
And I live where?
Aaah, that's right.
In the Cotswolds.

A blog match made in heaven,
if ever there was one.

So today's post will cover the planning side of the wedding and tomorrow I can share the glorious gorgeousness of the day itself,
for those of us NOT invited to the wedding

A hint at the guest list.....

That'll be Paul McCartney.
Eeeek.

I lurrrrrve me some romance.

I lurrrve me an English Country Summer wedding.

Yes, this post makes me drooooool.
*swoon*

Can I write that about my own blog?
Too late. Just did.

To be honest,
I am jumping up and down,
begging myself to post again.

And soon.

Summer Weddings......
........oooooooh!

{Which reminds me to remind you that
my Summer Loving Link Party
is on Wednesday 24th August.
Come by and link up
all things summer-related.}

Style Britannia: Me and Tweed

Top: Oasis, Skirt: Marks and Spencer,
Bag: Made by me with Cabbages and Roses fabric,

Hey rabbits,
Come on in.....

Today, let's talk tweed.
Itchy, scratchy and clammy?
Or super-duper scrummy?

{I want to hear what you think....}

But here's my tuppence-worth:

Tweed totally makes
my Style Britannia list.
BUT ONLY:
when it's fitted,
when it's cut well,
when it's paired with right pieces.

Here's why I like this look:

It's Modern
The three-quarter length sleeves
The ruching around the shoulders

It's Country
The classic styling of the lined, tweed pencil skirt

It's Modern Country
My lovely home-made bucket bag.

Remember the first

I've had so many compliments about that bag.
People ask where I got it from and I get to say,
in the casualest voice in the world,
'Oh, this? I made it'...
{and then I absolutely glow for the rest of the day}

If there's one thing you make this year,
it should definitely be a bucket bag. Adorable.

Style Britannia: Tweed

If I think tweed, I think country.

{Hand in hand like
a steaming mug of cocoa
and lashings of whipped cream.}

But do I think Modern Country?
Do I think Style Britannia?

A big fat yes from me.
Just take a squiz at these.
Then look me in the eye and
try to tell me you can't see a
glimmer of goodness in them.

You can't do it can you?

I see that glimmer in your eye, cherry pie.
Thinking: how can I make that look work for me?

That's exactly where I hope I cam help you.
Tomorrow I'll show you how I style it my way.

Tweed's come a long way, bab-ay.

Style Britannia: Me

Hello rabbits,
Are you well?

Over the last couple of weeks,
I've shared inspiration images of the
And then this week, we broke it down step by step,
to help us get our own gorgeousness together.
{If you want to check it out, it's as easy as 1,2,3!!}

And now, for the practical.
Today I'm showing you *my* take on
Modern Country Style.

Could I be more butterflies-in-my-tummy?
I'm not sure I could but here goes...

It's Modern.
The chunky belt slung low over my hips.

It's Country.
The pretty textured embroidery in the tailored blouse

It's Modern Country.
The echo of riding boots and jodhpurs in the skinny jeans and be-buckled knee high boots.
{Oh boots, you're my favourites.}

{Did you spot the cat's tail?!}

Here's a little secret.
I don't know about you but when I'm feeling sad,
I find it hard to pick out clothes to wear.

Sad Me seems to purposefully choose items that
make me feel the wrong shape or height or size.

So I've developed a cunning scheme to
overpower Sad Me's rubbish clothes choices.
When I come across an outfit that makes me feel zingy,
I write down what I'm wearing in my special Happy List.

Then, next time Sad Me rears her miserable little head,
I consult my Happy list and choose what to wear from there...
and it's usually not long before
Happy Me comes out to play again.

Try it and see.
It works a treat for me.

Boots: Clarks
Jeans: Gap
Blouse: Dotty Ps
Belt: Country Living Fair

I'll be linking with my favourite parties in the sidebar...

Style Britannia: Kate Middleton Part 3

Now, where we, peeps?
Aaah, yes, you were saying you were feeling a nip in the air
....and I said I'd see what I could do.

Never let it be said that I don't attend to your every whim.
Do you hear me?
Do you? Do you?

So here we are.
Back again in the homely comfort of me and you
nattering together.
And guess what?
I have the loveliest solution to
your windchill predicament.

The mac. The coat. The jacket.

All fitted.
All Modern Country Style.

All tailored
.....think fitted tweed traditional country.
But with awesome modern extras.

Colours.
Details.
Textures.

That's Modern Country Style, see?!
For Part 1 and Part 2 just click on the links...

It's those little extras that make the biggest difference.
Think classic. Think quality. Think
WOWSERS!!!

And these images are to show you how
Kate Middleton wears her vast array of coats.
{Not that she wears them all at once, obviously.
Michelin Man, anybody?}

I'd say she was looking pretty fly.
Wouldn't you?

Today, the weather is utterly glorious.
My idea of a perfect
English Spring afternoon.
Hazy, mellow and warm.

Tomorrow, I thought I'd share with you
how I like to wear
this whole Modern Country shebang.
I'm extremely nervous.
So please be gentle with me.
