Style Britannia: Kate Middleton Part 3

Now, where we, peeps?
Aaah, yes, you were saying you were feeling a nip in the air
....and I said I'd see what I could do.

Never let it be said that I don't attend to your every whim.
Do you hear me?
Do you? Do you?

So here we are.
Back again in the homely comfort of me and you
nattering together.
And guess what?
I have the loveliest solution to
your windchill predicament.

The mac. The coat. The jacket.

All fitted.
All Modern Country Style.

All tailored
.....think fitted tweed traditional country.
But with awesome modern extras.

Colours.
Details.
Textures.

That's Modern Country Style, see?!
For Part 1 and Part 2 just click on the links...

It's those little extras that make the biggest difference.
Think classic. Think quality. Think
WOWSERS!!!

And these images are to show you how
Kate Middleton wears her vast array of coats.
{Not that she wears them all at once, obviously.
Michelin Man, anybody?}

I'd say she was looking pretty fly.
Wouldn't you?

Today, the weather is utterly glorious.
My idea of a perfect
English Spring afternoon.
Hazy, mellow and warm.

Tomorrow, I thought I'd share with you
how I like to wear
this whole Modern Country shebang.
I'm extremely nervous.
So please be gentle with me.

She's gorgeous, as are all of her clothes. I don't think I have enough stylish outfits to put together a whole post so I can not wait to see your version and how you rock modern country style!!! :)

My goodness, how many coats can one person own?? I'm astonished, but also drooling.

Now, can we talk about your English-isms? "Fly"?? That's a new one for me. What does it mean? I'm guessing from the context that it's a good thing. Am I right?

Love this series!!

the fitted coats look great on her. but you know what i can't wait to see? YOU in modern country style fashion. waiting with bated breath. i'm sure it will be fab! :)

Isn't it funny that there are words that sound 'English'? I've only become aware of it since blogging. Yup, fly is good.

My favourite American phrase is 'cutie patootie'. I use it at every possible opportunity now. ;-)

You tomorrow? Oh, I can't wait :)
I love all of Kate's coats, but my favorite was the white with the black boots! You have anything like that laying around?

I can see how Kate got her prince - Mmm love a good coat - trot into Jaegar sometimes with my daughter, just to torture ourselves.

THE nicest jacket I have ever seen was recently, very soft italian suede in the MOST gorgeous pink you have ever seen. Needless to say the price tag was eye watering.

Can't wait for tomorrow. I have a feeling you will look pretty fly yourself.

Jackets, boots and jeans. Mmmm hmmmm... doesn't get any better than that. Michelin Man...Cute! That would be me. I'm always cold so I've been known to wear a couple coats. That must be why my son asked me to drop him off a block before school...LOL

Can't wait for tomorrow. Don't worry even a bit :)

Hugs,
~Michelle

Kate's wardrobe is just divine, Sarah! I love how you keep treating us to pictures of her stylish self.

However, I'm really excited to see your take on Modern Country/Style Brittania! You're sure to look fly. :) :)

Take care,
Erin

P.S.--I just saw the announcement that Will and Kate are coming to the U.S.--specifically California--in July!! Apparently Kate's never been to America. How exciting--so many Americans are smitten with this lovely, royal couple.

I really do think the coat makes the outfit! It is like the perfect finishing touch, you know? And done right, it flatters everyone and accentuates the waist so nicely. And, I CANNOT wait to see our own lovely Lady Modern Country Style do her take on this! :-)

Hi Sarah, been following your Kate posts faithfully, love to see her in her different outfits! I am wondering, do you think the "older" crowd can pull this look off, i mean us over 50 girls.....i know i still feel like im 30 but sometimes i don't feel free enough to know if i can dress like this...i know it shouldn't matter, but i would love to know your take on being stylish like this for us ladies over 50 :)

I love all her style. I love her coats.

OOHLALALA

Question: I have been reading alot of stuff about the British Monarchy of course lately. Does the Queen really really dislike Diana, or is that just rubbish?

Anita @ GoingALittleCoastal said...

I love coats. But living in FL I don't get to wear them much. I love have a short light weight trench that I love. She has some fantastic ones that's for sure.

I can't wait for tomorrows post! :)

The look you called all tailored- from the boots to the hat- stunning mix of pieces and color. So sophisticated, with just enough casual elements to keep the look from being stiff.

THANK You for sharing.

I love these Kate Middleton pics, Sarah. In a way, I've not paid that much attention to her style in the past, but I think I'll definitely be looking at it more in future. (And I suspect it will be hard to miss now!) Such a very classic style with a modern edge - love it! Melissa x
