I don't know about you, my poppett, but, when it comes to Christmas, I'm *far*more interested in atmosphere, than whether every bauble is perfectly in place.

Who cares whether the lanterns are slightly skewiff or if the red on the children's pictures doesn't exactly match the felt decorations?
Alright, I do just a little bit...
But what really matters to me is that it should all feel hugely festive.
A wonderfully happy celebration.
Like a King's birthday party.
{Which, would you believe, it is?}

Oh Sarah, I totally agree!! Atmosphere is my number one thing. We celebrate "Three King's Day" at our house, so we get to celebrate something totally devoted to Christ's birth.
I like the Christmas athmosphere in decembre so much!!!
Lovely pic!

Yes, Sarah, atmosphere is what it's all about. And, yes, it is the celebration of a King's birth. The King of all Kings!!!
Love and hugs, Cindy
One of my favorite Christmas carols is "Tis the Birthday of a King."
Merry Christmas in your festive home.
Fondly,
Glenda
I love that picture!

Absolutely agree. Happy Christmas to you.
YES!!!!! Love you, Sarah, and I'm so happy to have gotten to know you this year. :)
Atmosphere is everything. Lots of ice candles, snow lanterns and the smell of Christmas tree and hyacinths does it for me. So pleased to have found your lovely blog!
Agreed! I think it's important to have a certain degree of 'realness' to a Christmassy Decorated house - After all, no one's perfect and Christmas is just a big King's birthday celebration!!

Amen.
I totally share your sentiment, my lovely!

Im with you the moer blankets tossed around and the more candles burning the happier I am.
So true Sarah. Have a good Christmas and I look forward to following you in 2012.
Happy birthday to the King and happy Christmas to you. I love the wonkiness-perfection throws me off. :-)
The photo is from a Pottry Barn catalog. I recognized it as I have it sitting in my holiday decorating binder. Such a beautiful pic...sigh :)
