More Space Than Sense...Or The Ultimate Luxury?

I admit I initially found this image rather appealing.....

via Brown Dress With White Dots

Then I began to think, as one does,
about the practicalities of such a fanciful get-up.

Aeroplane-flying-peeping-toms might be a problem.
Where would I get the hot water?
Let alone traipsing back and forth to the house to get the bubble-bath, the shampoo, the conditioner.....
And, in fact, who needs outdoor bath tubs when you have a lake?

See all these problems with having more space than sense?
Thank the heavens I'm not in that perilous position.

This appeals to me way more than those Big Brother style hot tubs that people have in their garden. I'd sit in one of these in my swimmies.

It actually looks a little uncomfortable! I'd take my humble little tub over this...but the picture is pretty!

Nah! Don't think that's my idea of bliss!
But that expansive view? Now, that I could enjoy!
Looking forward to small garden ideas. My garden is tiny...I had to take panels out of my CK gazebo as it was too big to fit in our space!!
But, your garden looks a fair size. In fact it was the your beautiful garden pictures that really sold your blog to me!! And then I got to catch up with your other posts!

Fun picture- but yeah... the hot water issue- the nakedness outside... not to mention being outside in a metal tub looks cooooold too... I think soaking in a tubby with hot water inside in front of a large window overlooking the lake would be perfect! :)

Yes, you're right. Our back garden is a good size - t's our front garden that's crying out for some love!

Fanciful yes, practical...no.

This image looks totally bliss to me. It would so be worth getting the hot water there and enjoying the lake and the fire. So much fun!! Love it! Leahx

It looks wonderfully romantic to me - and of course my maid would have filled the tub with hot water before I went in. And brought me cool drinks while I soaked. And shooed away any peeping toms!

What a wonderful image. Unfortunately looks very cold and the biggest problem is that you wouldn't be able to reach the drinks...! x

You make an excellent point here. I'll cross the outdoor tub off my list. LOL! Looking forward to your small garden ideas.

Ha, at my age I'm definitely not skinny dipping anywhere outside I'll take that view though. :)

I immediately thought "How would i get my glass of wine? "... or stoke the fire... or hell get out of the tub in the first place...

but the pure relaxment does draw me in..

Just when I said today to my mum: "one day, I'll have to do something with the first (tiny) garden"... About the outside bath... Wouldn't the wind blow my favourite candles?

The picture is pretty but I would prefer to be inside soaking in a nice hot tub. However, it would be lovely to have my indoor tub overlook a lake or beautiful garden.
I hope you are having a wonderful weekend.

What a picture! But you're right - totally impractical. It doesn't hurt to dream though:) looking forward to small garden ideas - ours is the size of a postage stamp! God bless x

Totally hilarious..... and one must remember, how would one maintain their femininity when sloshing in and out of the bathtub for various items to wash with? How does one elegantly step out of a bathtub?

I agree, a lake is what you want rather than an outdoor bathtub!

Remember Sarah, whatever fanciful ideas you may have about bathing outside....you live in England...so bar perhaps 2 evenings per year (if you're lucky) it would simply not be possible! Robx

Haha - it definitely LOOKs nice, but clearly there would be some issues :)

Beautiful picture, but not so practical. Oooh, I can use all the gardening help I can get!

reminds me of a viagra commercial, which I never understood, why outside.
