Contemporary Country House And Garden Tour

After what I hope was a giddily enjoyable weekend, are you ready to take a tour of this Contemporary Country Home and Garden dramatic transformation, which caused VERY divided opinion over on Modern Country Style's Faceobook page? Have you joined us there for lots of Modern Country love?

Draw closer to the entrance (try Farrow and Ball in French Gray for this palest grey-green exterior paint).

In we come, to the hallway. Little Greene French Grey and French Grey (Mid) paints above and below the panelling will give this soft grey effect. (Not to be confused with the Farrow and Ball version!)

The chalky greys continue into the kitchen...

{It's the combination of the country-style table and chairs and soft planting, set against the stark slate grey and white exterior, and modern lighting that give this Contemporary Country Garden feel).

...and into a very modern bathroom, softened slightly with the bare wood of the rustic shelves.

Finishing with the Master bedroom. The Contemporary Country interiors carries on even up here, with the monochrome colour scheme (don't you love those grey bedside tables?), and hanging hearts.

NOT what I would have expected from the old exterior but exactly what I would hope for the new!

Is a Contemporary Country home or garden for you?

Wow, an incredible transformation. I much prefer the new look. I love the French style additions which add personality to the home. I feel like the lounge is missing something though, the stunning gold mirror makes such a statement, but the rest of the room looks a little sparse in comparison. An all round beautiful home though.

Such a gorgeous home! I am so glad I've found your blog. Do you mind if I ask you a question? I am in the process of painting my house throughout. I've always in the past used off-white for trim - skirting boards, architrave, as doors. This time however, I am looking at takings the colour over the woodwork. I've got myself in a muddle however. Do window frames and sills also get painted the same? What about doors? I feel there needs to be a few white accents, but not sure if you can do half and half or whether it needs to be all white or no white! Also, if you do all the same colour, does the woodwork need to be eggshell or emulsion?

Thanks so much for your help!
