Modern Country Flower Styling For A Wedding

Welcome back to part two of
Modern Country Style Guide
To Growing And Creating
Your Own Vintage Wedding Flowers

We're aiming for Modern Country flower styling that is: attainable, low-priced and gorgeous. Today's arrangement would look beautiful on the centre of each wedding table.

And with that in mind, here's how to create a very easy Modern Country Flower Arrangement. We're keeping it super-simple so don't be nervous. I've used an assortment of vases, just as we discussed in Part 1. The flowers are all easy to grow in the garden, and are all ready at this time of year.

{Remember, when you're thinking about arrangements, you need to make sure the necessary plants are all going to be ready at the same time.}

This is a little like following a recipe.

Here's what you'll need:

One white hydrangea plant
An old terracotta pot
Leafy evergreen branches
Jam jars (I've used vintage Kilner jars)
Printing blocks
Silvered glass bottles in large and small sizes (you can buy mine here)
Dried alium heads

Pop the hydrangea plant into a suitably large old terracotta pot; if necessary, you may need to add more compost.

Add the evergreen foliage from your garden into the jam jars. I like sticking to one type for a simple, rustic feel.

Pop the alium heads into the silvered glass bottles.

I love the contrast of their natural spikiness alongside the shiny glass. Alium Christophii heads work brilliantly for this. They keep their dried form all through the winter. I think they look like little fireworks!

And then comes the fun bit! Keep moving the different pieces around until you find an arrangement that looks gorgeously and visually satisfying.

I love the hydrangea in the middle as the centrepiece, and the jars in front, with the silvered glass bottles either side. But if you find a different way that you prefer then go for it! This is your special day, after all!

One of the best thing about this is that the budget is spent on things you can keep after the day is over, as a lifelong memory of your perfect Modern Country wedding.

Wow, I just love all these flower setting and decoration ideas. These are adorable and selection is stunning. I am also looking for some good Los Angeles wedding venues to host the after wedding party. Can you share some ideas for me please?
