Nigella's Kitchen

Hey honey-bunch.

At the weekend, we played hide and seek. I have to tell you the sweetest thing. When we'd finished playing, my littlest son said to his lovely Daddy:

"Daddy, I don't mind you hiding in good places but please can you not go anywhere magical."

Magical? I think he thinks his Daddy hides in Narnia.

Mr Modern Country, your hiding places are just too dang good.

Too cute.

Today, my thoughts are turning celebrity-wise.

To Nigella Lawson, in particular.

Wanna come and see? Nigella said we could....This is her saying that, for today only, her house is our house.....

Can I be sued for lying on here?

:-)

I've been trying to find some pictures of her kitchen to show you. Here are some of the best.....

This is her fridge behind her. Isn't it lovely with those hinges?

Something tells me Nigella is fairy-light-crazeeee.

By day or by night, she must have some fairy-lights....

I like her idea of displaying her cookie-cutter collection on her kitchen shelves.

Now, Nigella, we do love you but you do just keep getting in the way of the camera.

Please will you just keep your head out of the photo for one second so we can have a proper nose around your kitchen?

Nigella said no.

It's her kitchen, and she'll show off if she wants to.

Oh wait, one last thing, Nigella We've noticed that you don't have many recipe books.

How wonderful to see that you can be so frugal.

Oh? Errr......

That's a lorra lorra books.

But....yummy.....this more than makes up for it. Why, thank you, Nigella. Don't mind if I do.

Can't wait to see you again soon for more kitchen delectability.

She is currently TRYING to take the US by storm. Everytime I watch her show I just laugh at how she explains things...a good time had by all. Have you seen her beach house kitchen - that's my fav! liz

You are so cute! Her kitchen is so open and airy and yes lots of fairy lights, but it makes it cozy too! :) I have never heard of her but I don't watch too many cooking shows, well, cause I can't cook....hmmm, maybe that would help me! :) Thanks for introducing her!

Have a lovely day!!

Sigh...I love Nigela. She's curvy, and real, I love that she raids the fridge at the end of her shows ;)
Her kitchen I think is charming. Her lights make it have a romantic feel. She's just awesome, so glad you shared this Sarah :) Thank you also for all the support on my blog, and my Hotel Tray Post. You are too kind. xoxo tami

I have never seen this lovely lady, of course I do miss out on a lot what with not having a TV, but I love her kitchen.
Oooh, I adore her fairy lights, her horizontal planks and her stove top and wall ovens, really nice. I like the shelves for her cookie cutters, too. Her kitchen looks like a modern/country combo. And it's white, gotta love it!
Hugs, Cindy

o"K"... you got me! You're good kid! I had a fun one for "m" though. Mums (not your English mom :) Do I get extra points for being witty? I'll be a good sore loser :)

Nigella's kitchen is too cute! It's not fair to have a cute kitchen and be gorgeous. We watch her on the "Food Network". I figure if we watch it long enough, some of her talent will rub off. Love the hinges, too. One can never have too many fairy lights.

Have a wonderful day, Sarah Sarah!

Oh Sarah, she is one of my favies! Not only is she curvaciously gorgeous, she is so fun and down to earth.
Her personal story is so unbelievable. She is a strong and courageous woman and still amazingly humble.
Wouldnt you just love to have her as a pal and pop over for some yummy dinner?! I always thought she must be amazing since she has christmas lights up year round in her kitchen :)

XOX

ps - dont you love how she pops into her kitchen for a midnite snack...and nibbles straight out of the fridge?! SO cute!!

How funny! I just saw Lady Lawson on Iron Chef last night! My hubby said, "who is that?" and I said, "I'm going to pretend I didn't just hear you ask that!" She is so lovely and her kitchen and home are so lovely and well, this is just a lovely love fest you are having here! :-)

LOL! i'm not sure Nigella would appreciate being asked to step out of the camera so we can see her fridge hinges... ! I love what your son said about 'magic places;' wouldn't it be fun to still think like a child, once in a while?

How cool is that? Is it wrong that I want to bring my Christmas lights back out? My kitchen is so..er... humble. It needs some sparkle like that. Fun post!

Nigella is such a warm soul, and the tragedies she's been through haven't hardened her a-tall (as she would say). I like that she actually talks about her being a little ample on the "bosomy and bottomy" end of things, as she called it recently. One of my favorite lines was when she said, "I have a lot of delicious tiramisus under my belt, and I'm afraid it shows." :)

She's gorgeous and generous and an inspiration to many.

Dear Sarah, Rather strangely, a friend of a friend who has had dinner with Nigella on several occasions tells me that she [yes, the kitchen goddess herself] is really not that interested in cooking!! All very odd!!

Cute post! I love her kitchen as well, and the food looked pretty good too!

bit of MAGIC into
our main room, as
your sweet little
man so wonderfully
puts it : ) Thank
you and N. for the
tour....Now, if I
could only reach
through this screen
and nab some of those

Hi Sarah, you are so cute and Nigella is definitely on my list of celeb chef crushes. Don't you think she would be fun to cook with and be invited to eat over at her house? I would so love that. I too am always trying to see her kitchen when I watch her show. I love the fairy lights and that cookbook collection...so fun.

Holly Lefevre said...

I do love Nigella...she looks like she east and acts like she actually likes food (must haves in my book - there are a few "cooks" who I swear do not actually eat.). That cookie cutter idea is genius!

Brandi said...

Aww your son is so cute! I love the Narnia movies! I love the cookie cutter display in Nigella's kitchen and I agree her frig is lovely!

The Single Nester said...

I used to like Nigella but not so much anymore. Have you noticed that when she is filmed, she is only shot from her chest up? It is in her contract not to show her bottom half. It makes for not a good show if you ask me because the focus is on her face and not the food.

A Whole Lotta Magic said...

She is so incredibly gorgeous!!!!

I had no idea that was her 'real' kitchen. I thought it was just the studio set where the show is filmed.

I must be the only person in blogland, but I don't know who this woman is. Just from what I've seen & read in the comments, I'd better "quick" watch whatever show she's on. She is so gorgeous.
