Aaah, hello again, honey pops.
Welcome back to
Book Monday.
Today's book is
completely scrumdiddlyumptious.
Home-Made Vintage
by Christina Strutt.
Hmm, that's right.
Of Cabbages and Roses fame.
I warned you it'd be scrumptious, didn't I?.
Yet, you *chose* to carry on reading.
I can definitely not be blamed for any consequences.
{Click here to buy your very own copy.}
The subtitle is 'Over 40 Quick And Easy Sewing Projects'.
And I'd happily make 38 of them.
That's an impressive score for a craft book.
It's separated into two parts.
Projects: theme by theme, and Instructions.
Each page has absolutely deliciously styled photos to
lure you into having a go at each of the projects.
The projects are divided into chapters:
Living Room, Bedroom and Bathroom,
Clothes and Accessories, and Gifts.
The writing can only be
described as juicily seductive.
Heaven, if it came in book-form,
might look something like this.
With the to-die-for combo of
juicy writing and delicious styling,
you'll be whipping out
your sewing kit in a flash.
The instructions at the back are clear,
although I'd possibly have preferred
larger drawings for each step.
In order to demonstrate just how irresistible these projects are, I've picked out a couple of the ones that most acted as honey traps...
and I've been a busy little industrious bee.
Shall I show you now?
Er, no.
Because you didn't laugh with enough enthusiasm at my honey trap and bee joke.
I'm sensitive like that. Ha!
:-)
Let's try again on Wednesday, shall we?
{Oh, and if you enjoyed last week's
fashion foray, there'll be more of that
a-comin' your way
...and if you didn't enjoy it
speak now or forever hold your peace...}
All images: mine!
I'll be linking with my favourite parties in the sidebar...

What a great looking book, I would be trapped faster than you can say "honey bee"!!! I would love to make a few of those luscious creations!
Hugs, Cindy
I laughed at the honey traps joke!
As for the book, here I am trying to develop some self-control over my book-buying habits and now you go showing me this delightful little temptation...

That looks like a good one! I'll see if my library has it.
And look at you, styling your photos...I think you might need to look into a new career as a photographer!

I can't do crafty books just yet, they make me feel so inadequate... when I have more time... perhaps 20 years from now. My hand's up for more fashion... meant to comment on YOUR look (lovely jubbly) but time ran out... it does that a lot. gxo
Anything by Christine is sure to be beautiful. Just looking at you post makes me want to get sewing. Definitely love reading your posts about home decor - the Belgian series has been my favourite so far, and I love looking at projects people complete. A bit of fashion thrown in for good measure is a good thing too. But I'm really looking forward to more decorating style posts.

This book is so beautiful, just like you in your last post. And from behind . . . adorable, Miss Sarah. (Sorry for some reason I couldn't comment on that post, silly computer.)
I wanted to tell you that Shelly Wildman and I have met again for the second time and we are having so much fun getting to know each other. Over lunch, we talked about you and how much we like you . . . would you join us next time? (Just pop over the hedge.) Please.
Keep up the great posts.
Fondly,
Glenda
This book looks so interesting and beautiful
Have a nice day

That book looks pretty cool!
Saw a couple things I'd like to make {if I ever sewed...} such as that metal basket liner.
I would probably need life-size drawings though.
And maybe someone to come help me.
Nice!! You know what...one day you are going to have to take me shopping!! I just thought I would throw this out there...love the look of this book (will now hunt to see if I can get it here)...and, I just realised too late, but where did you get your belt (in the last post!) I have belt AND Book envy!!! :-D

Temptress is definitely part of my blogging job description!!! ;-)
Cath, the belt was from the Country Living Fair in London from March. I bought it from a man who makes belts. I can't even remember his name. Sorry to be so unhelpful.
