The fabulous Relics of Witney blog has a new post up (put together by yours truly!) featuring their top ten grey paints. The post is split into the best grey paint for front doors. Here's one of their choices, Farrow and Ball Railings:

...and the best grey paint for interiors. Here's a deliciously neutral hallway in Farrow and Ball Cornforth White:

The Holiday: Rosehill Cottage...and Paint Colours!

Do you recognise this house? It's Rosehill Cottage from The Holiday!

I LOVED sharing the Modern versus Country: The Holiday series {you can see it here...}where we looked at different aspects of Iris' gorgeous Country cottage compared to Amanda's beautiful Modern home. Despite Amanda's being bigger and better in almost every way, Rosehill Cottage's quintessential English charm won the day with nearly all of you.

Now, if your home looks like this, or you'd like it too, then come over to the Relics of Witney blog to chat over the very best exterior paint colours to enhance the Cotswold stone look.

Yummy!

Creating Flow-Through: Flooring

Let me share a peek into this gorgeous home. Having the same beautiful flooring throughout several rooms is a fantastic way to unify any space and create that Modern Country Flow-Through vibe.

But I bet when I said the words 'beautiful flooring', your heart sank. Beautiful = Expensive in the flooring world, right? Well, just look at these floors....

They'd be in my gorgeous-category hands-down.....and didn't cost the earth either.....both literally and figuratively.

What am I on about?

Come over to the Relics blog and see the rest of this gorgeous home plus a detailed How-To on what YOU can do to get this lovely Scandi-Chic look in your home.

{Top Tip: it's easy-peasy}

How To Gild With Gilt Cream...

Gilding creates a fantastically festive feel, perfect for this time of year, and can be a surprisingly cost-effective way of adding warmth to your home (a little gilt cream goes a very long way) with a bit of creative know-how.

But where would you find that kind of help? Ahaaaaaaaa.....

I'm over at the Relics of Witney blog today, taking you through the process step by step {ahem,...including trouble-shooting for what to do if it all goes horribly wrong}.

Creating Perfect Curtain Poles...

I'm very excited to be over at Relics of Witney's blog today,
where you can find more about how to get these solid wooden finials and poles...

to look like this painted-and-gilt-creamed curtain pole...

How beautiful do they look now, eh?!

Getting a gorgeously bespoke finish this way isn't as hard as you might think....and considerably cheaper than other options too!

In December, Relics of Witney will be showing a step-by-step guide about how gilt cream can give you Christmassy va-va-voom...so don't forget to subscribe!

Now, I'm off to prepare some yummy food for warming our tummies as we watch some more fireworks tonight!

Curvy Grey Wicker Chairs

Today, I'm over at the Relics of Witney blog
for an in-depth look at the new breed of wicker:
colonial-style greyed rattan.

{Swoon}

So yummy.
I LOVE these rattan chairs from Relics....

I've been enamoured with this design for a while now.
Curvalicious, baby.
They call to me every time I visit Relics.

I decided it was time to claim one for my very own.

It arrived just in time for the weekend!
And is even more lovely than I'd hoped.

Don't you love it when that happens?!

The Jubilee Ethos

Hey there, sweets,

We're having the most wonderful Jubilee weekend.

Yesterday, we went to a street party.
{The Queen said she would have been there
but was having a slightly busy day.}

Singing 'Rule Brittania',
waving our Union Jack flags,
sheltering under pushed-together gazebos from the steady drizzle,
whilst children played,
and grown-ups laughed,
encapsulates all that I completely adore about being British.

Today, I'm over at the Relics of Witney blog, talking about their year-round Jubilee ethos. If you're yearning for a shop that listens to their customers, gives fantastic and individual advice, stocks a huge array of home-related delights and is an absolute pleasure to lazily browse around then come and have a look..

I'll be posting over there on the first of every month.

My Secret Announcement....

Yesterday, I left you with a bit of a teaser, I know.
Are you ready for my exciting announcement?

I'm really hoping that
you'll love it as much as me.

{But enough with the waffle, Sarah.
On with the post....}

There's a shop in the Cotswolds,
that has been one of my all-time favourites for years.

They sell a fantastic range of paints -
Farrow and Ball, Sanderson, Dulux, Earthborn, Little Greene
- as well a the most beautiful architectural ironmongery.
Their advice is truly second-to-none,
and they even have a basket of toys for little ones to play
with while you're browsing.

They've asked me to design and author a blog for them.
I began the Relics of Witney blog about a month ago
and it's now ready for your personal viewing pleasure...

It's going to be a heady mix of top notch advice and tutorials
on using the very best paints and products,
as well as how to make your home and garden look gorgeous
and the sharing of fabulous information.

So far, posts have been about how to choose
and the Relics team have been sharing

Would you like a peek?

I'd be so honoured
if you'd consider following me there.
