A prince is born! Kate and William show off their newborn baby!

Magic: With the world watching, Kate and William hold their prince outside the Lindo Wing in a genuinely historic moment for Britain

George Alexander Louis was born on Monday 22nd July, weighing a very respectable 8 pounds and 6 ounces.

New life: The baby was crying in his car seat as his father took him to their waiting car yesterday evening

Kate and William presented His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge to cheering crowds outside the hospital.

Emotional: The new mother looked delighted as she looked down at her first child while her husband waved to the excited crowds

But the big news here is that Kate Middleton made no efforts to hide her post-baby bump. With such ridiculous amounts of pressure on celebrities to get back to shape the moment they've given birth, I think Kate deserves a humongous cheer for standing up for the mother's of new-born babies everywhere.

The magazine OK! has been absolutely slated for their quick-off-the-press article discussing Kate's training program...and rightly so. These early days with your very own scrummy bundle are utterly precious and should be fiercely guarded.

It's looks to me as though this pair will go a long, long way.

I thought it was about time we saw how Kate Middleton is getting on with being pregnant. Let's take a time-travel trip to see how stylish Kate has been dressing to impress.

And more to the point, how she's finding maternity fashion.

Just how does a princess dress for pregnancy these days?

With Kate Middleton's usual flair and grace, that's how.

Not for this princess is the bare-it-all look. Kate Middleton's pregnancy style is modest and reserved....

but not at the expense of looking feminine and gorgeous.

I love that.

Kate Middleton Is Pregnant!!

You know I'm a big fan of Kate Middleotn, right? Remember all the posts I did on her lovely Modern Country looks? Well, they'll be more fashion posts coming up for Kate because.....Kate Middleton is pregnant. Hurrah!!

The palace officially confirmed the news today, saying:

"Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby. The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry and members of both families are delighted with the news."

This is, of course, a biiiiig deal, as the child will be next in line to the throne after Prince William....and, apparently that's true whether the baby is a boy or a girl. David Cameron has said: "Put simply, if the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were to have a little girl, that girl would one day be our queen."

Apparently, Kate was admitted to King Edward VII Hospital today with very bad morning sickness. The palace confirmed: "As the pregnancy is in its very early stages, Her Royal Highness is expected to stay in hospital for several days and will require a period of rest thereafter."

Wishing the very best of luck for a brilliant pregnancy and a healthy, bouncing baby.

Kate Middleton in Turquoise Dress

Speaking of all things girlie and beautiful,

let's talk Kate Middleton,

the Duchess of Cambridge.

{I wonder if we'll ever stop calling her 'Kate Middleton' now that she's married?}

How's does this gorgeous turquoise dress rank on your to-die-for list?

I'd say it's pretty dang high up on mine.

Total teal lushability.

Kate Middleton wore this incredible dress to the London Olympic Gala Concert.

She was by FAR the best dressed lady of the night.

Lady of the night?

That came out all wrong.

;-)

She could not look less 'lady of the night' if she tried, could she?

All the details, down to Kate's beautiful up-do and Jimmy Choo's are just perfection.

But it's Kate Middleton's sparkle-studded turquoise dress that she wore to the Royal Albert Hall event that hits all the right spots for me.

It's delightful.

Detailed.

Dignified.

Now that I'm towards the end of of my pregnancy, I can't help my mind drifting towards non-maternity clothes. They all look so beautiful, soft and so non-stretching-over-a-massive-bump. I have clothes-envy wherever I look...
