Top Ten Modern Country Christmas Hallways

Welcome, my scrumptiousses, to the second in the new series on Christmas decorating: Modern Country Style! Let's look at my Top Ten Christmas Hallway Ideas today...

Modern Country Christmas hallways should be warm, welcoming and create a sense of anticipation of what's to come in the rest of the house...

The only actual interior decorating we've done so far in our hallway is to remove nine, yes, NINE electricity meters so, let me tell you, I KNOW that a little Christmas decorating goes a loooong way in smartening up your hallway space...

I love the attention given to the staircase in so many of these images. Our original staircase was boxed in by previous owners of our Georgian home (whhhhyyyyyyy would you do that?!)....

...I cannot wait to crack that baby out again...and when I do? The staircase will be decorated to within an inch of its Modern Country life!!

Doesn't all the greenery look gorgeous in these images? I have a particular soft spot for eucalyptus during the winter months, I love its soft, muted blue green hues....

...but over Christmas itself, it's got to be traditional for me: holly, ivy and touches of red....

I think what grabs me most about many of these ideas is how the hallways have been decorated really lavishly - its definitely a case of more is more - but still with one eye on the style ball, as it were.

There are colour themes going on that are picked up throughout the space, whether, as below, it's gold baubles tying in with the gold urn at the top of the stairs, and the gold of the mirror...

...or simply a subtle enhancing of the muted shades that already exist in the hallway space, Modern Country Christmas decorating always lifts your spirits....

...and prepares the way happily for the main event: Christmas Day!
