Gorgeous Country Kitchen and Fish and Chips Delightfulness

Aah, the weekend is here, my besties.

We are bffs now, aren't we?
Right???
Right.

The sun is out, the sky is blue.
June: you're doing us proud.
Doing. Us. Proud.
You hear me, June?

Last night we sat outside and
ate fish and chips in the garden
as a special treat.

My book of happiness says:

feeling a bit tired after a happy day of
cavorting on our trampoline

Speaking of delicious,
this kitchen is very gorgeous indeed
is it not?

I love the table in the kitchen.
Now then. I'll tell you straight up that
we don't have a table and chairs in our kitchen.

But it's a Country Kitchen basic, no?
What's a girl to do?

Boogie on back on Monday and
I'll share how we deal with that little monkey over at my place.....

Oohh, I'm still waiting for the June issue of Country Homes and Interiors to hit the shops here. Is this from there? What a beautiful kitchen... and I am so jealous you got to eat 'proper' fish and chips last night. Something I miss so much from the UK. Lx

Love that kitchen! While in England in '92, we ordered fish and chips for supper at friends. The host asked my hubby how many pieces of fish he'd like. Being from Canada he said 2 or 3. The host then explained the size of English fish and my hubby changed it to 1 piece. LOL Our fish is about the size of the palm of your hand. Quite a difference. It was very delicious. ;-) Have a great day! Pamela

Sarah,
That kitchen is absouluetly delightful! I like everything about it. How lovely to have a cozy dinner wtih your husband! Here, we call something like that, "comfort food".
I'm loving having a new "BF"!
Rebecca
P.S. Enjoy your June, here, it's brought us temps in the high 90s!

It is indeed a lovely country kitchen. I have the white board and batten walls, great framed barn photos, similar paint colour and I'm thinking the missing link in my kitchen is fabric. We don't have a lovely bench with pillows (hutch instead) but I think adding some chair cushions like in your photos would be just the perfect touch. Thanks for sharing the inspiration.

Hello my dear bff, You know we're besties, Sarah, you don't even have to ask.
I love that kitchen, it is SO drool worthy. My hubby love fish and chips and we will probably be going to a great fish and chip place next week because my hubby's friend will be in town and we always go there when he is. I will think of you while I eat the yummy local caught fish. I can't remember what it is though! LOL~ I wanted to tell you, but alas, it has slipped my mind.
Ttyl! Cindy

I think that is black soapstone countertop in the last picture. My mother gave me her island top because she didn't like it and had it replaced with granite. I use it as my table top and I love it! We found legs for it. And fish and chips in the garden sounds lovely!! If I hadn't just consumed three quarters of a days calories at breakfast/lunch I would want to have fish and chips in my garden. Maybe tomorrow.

Personally, I think there is nothing sexier than a husband who says, "Let's eat out tonight, Dear." Um, yes please!

This kitchen makes my heart beat faster! So warm and cozy! Love the hardware, light fixture and wood table/chairs. They sell chairs similar in style, at World Market. I've been drooling over them forever!!! Forever, I tell ya :)

Enjoy your weekend bff! Too cute! I will have to tell Jeff about your English meal. He loves fish & chips. We had it on the first night of our honeymoon.

Yay, for June!

It is a beautiful kitchen. If you have a minute, take a look at my new farm table that I blogged on yesterday. Loving it...

June is a wonderful month, isn't it? Love going outside in the early morning to water my garden, drink a cup of coffee and see our hens wander around the yard. Doesn't get much better.

Oh you Temptress You! English Fish and Chips? Real English Fish and Chips? In the Garden, you say??? Sigh...
And the Kitchen you shared, well , I do believe it's right up my alley. My kind of kitchen, and don't think I didn't notice the pretty little fluffy floral pillow, because I did;)

Thank you so much Sarah for your sweet sweet email. Being so 'new' to the blogasphere compared to your expert self it is so lovely to hear such kind words about my blog! I'm so glad that you enjoy it and share the same decoration loves as me. I don't have many followers, (yet!) but I treasure the ones that I do and value your opinion.
Oh how I wish we could live closer by (we I used to live close without even knowing it. (oh the irony!)
Glad you are back on commenting again- wasn't it so annoying! Makes me feel better that there are others out there who also wanted to pick up their computers and throw it out a top floor window!
I hope the Brits still do their fish and chips in newspaper- I used to love that (they sadly don't do it here)
Enjoy the start of your summer - have a pimms for me!
Em xx

It is a truely scrumcious kitchen, love that bench in the corner & yes I am a fan of a table in the kitchen it makes it more homely, we havnt got the room in our kitchen but the kitchen/dinning area is pretty open so i can still chat to guests while cooking something i couldnt do in the old house. My ex mother in law lived in the most beautiful farm house with a large kitchen & yes nice long table to boot. everyone always gathered around that table to chat dinner time or not i have great memories of that family (not so much the ex mind). I always thought it must have been great to grow up there. She is now widowed & has down sized her house but its a home sorely missed by many.

Being from West Texas, not sure what fish and chips might be..we usually have french fries...same?
The kitchen is lovely.

My kind of kitchen, how lovely. I love the little dog tucked away in the corner there. Tables and dogs essential in an English kitchen, we have one but not the other. It doesn't matter how many times I feed my husband Fish and Chips he would still say a big fat NO to a dog, sniff.

Our summer came yesterday and has gone today...Brrrrrr

Ah, here is to many more years of marital and culinary deliciousness, my friend, my neighbor.

My mouth is watering for some delicious fish and chips now . . . they just don't make them as well in the States.

Fondly,

This is the first time in my adult life that I've had the room for a proper table and chairs in the kitchen. I've been waiting for a long long time. Love it. Wouldn't call it a country look (in my home, that is), but the comfort is here in abundance. Looking forward to your next post. Oh, and your fabric covered file boxes are so so so pretty! ~Diane
